Zoup To Open Third Store in Columbus

There’s a tacit underground network of us who secretly love soup. Whether creamy or broth-based, chock-full of vegetables or velvety smooth, soup is the ultimate comfort food, deserving of daily devouring.

So when Denis Barboza opened the very first Zoup branch in Central Ohio in the Huntington Center on Capitol Square in November 2011,  it was met with enthusiastic response from local soup lovers.

Then, last July, Jim and Treva Weaver opened a second Zoup restaurant, this time out in Westerville, at 522 Polaris Parkway. That branch has also been popular with locals and visitors alike, so it seemed only appropriate to open another Zoup in our fair (and hungry) city.

This Fall, the Weavers open the third local Zoup store in the Lennox Town Center at 1543 Lennox Town Lane (in the former Sabo’s Camping store). It’s part of a conscious expansion effort on the Zoup! Fresh Soup Company’s part. The 2,300 square feet restaurant, with a patio, will seat 56 guests at a time.

Zoup features hundreds of soups, with at least 12 always in rotation, including Lobster Bisque, Vegetarian Split Pea Soup, and and Savory Cucumber Gazpacho. Zoup also sells salads and sandwiches, including the Lemon Caper Tuna and Chicken Toscana on Country French Loaf.

“The wide variety of healthy choices, including soups, salads, and sandwiches provide a great dining alternative for our community,” shares Jim Weaver. “We are very excited to open our second Zoup location, and introduce the brand and culture to Columbus.”

The new Zoup! Fresh Soup Company location will be open Monday – Saturday, 11am – 9pm, and from 11am – 7pm on Sundays.
