Old Worthington has boasted a hardware store for over 100 years, but that era will come to a close in early 2015 when the Zettler Hardware location at 661 High Street will close its doors for good. Zettler Properties will not be selling the building though, and instead will divide up the 10,000 square foot space to make room for multiple new retail tenants.

“We do not have a closing date yet, but will be discounting merchandise through the end of the year,” confirmed Elizabeth Buchenroth, VP of Leasing & Development at Zettler Properties. “Renovations will happen in the first quarter to prepare for our first new tenant, GRID Furnishings.”

We previously wrote about GRID’s plans to exit the Short North and relocate to Worthington, though no specific location was announced at that point in time. GRID officially closed at 944 North High Street last Sunday, November 23rd in preparation for the move.

“Grid will be leasing 3,000 square feet of the building,” said Owner Tim Friar. “Over the next few months the space will updated before an opening next year.”

Zettler will continue to service customers through multiple other locations in Central Ohio.
