After more than a decade, Yellow Brick Pizza has closed the doors to its original location. A social media post announced the Olde Towne East pizza joint, 892 Oak St., was closed, effective immediately.

There is a silver lining, though.

“We are excited to announce that we will [be] opening up a booth at East Market coming no later than Fall 2021,” the post read. “This was a tremendously difficult call to make – but as we got closer and closer to opening over at East Market, it makes the most sense.”

The digs at the East Market in the newly-minted Trolley District put Yellow Brick Pizza almost exactly one mile east, at the northeast corner of Oak Street and Kelton Avenue. Slated to welcome its first vendors in August, the East Market will feature 20 stalls and restaurants, with names like Tony Tanner of the Butcher & Grocer and Columbus Brewing Company already attached to the project.

Yellow Brick Pizza has gone through some changes in its lineup over the last year. In July 2020, the King Avenue location closed (and will now become Pelino’s Pasta) to direct focus on its previously announced new restaurant in Franklinton. In December 2020, Yellow Brick Pizza opened its doors in the River & Rich development at 415 W. Rich St.
