Owner Ryan LaRose made the announcement last week on Facebook, and the pizzeria served their last meal on Sunday, Oct. 21.

“As a first time business owner, there have been many lessons learned,” LaRose said in an email. “We are disappointed to be closing our doors, but we know the knowledge gained during these last two and a half years will greatly inform the next chapter.”

Leone’s first opened in March of 2016 at 5413 Sinclair Rd. They offered a diverse menu of appetizers, like bruschetta and meatball parmigiana; salads, subs, pastas, and pizzas. LaRose started the business after devoting years to the pizza industry. In 2007 he won a gold medal in acrobatic dough tossing, and he’s since competed national and internationally in France and Italy, according to Leone’s website.

LaRose’s future “certainly involves the food and restaurant industry,” he says, but “we just aren’t sure what that looks like right now.”
