The Center for HumanKindness at The Columbus Foundation invites the community to join it in honoring World Kindness Day by taking 15 minutes to connect and share two, five-minute conversations with your neighbors. As a thank you and act of community solidarity, the Center for HumanKindness will make a $50 donation* in your honor to a nonprofit of YOUR choice listed in The Columbus Foundation’s Giving Store.

Participating is easy, fun, and only requires 15 minutes of your time!

    Here’s how it works:

    • Commit to 15 minutes of kindness. Register for a 15-minute Zoom timeslot on Friday, November 12, or Saturday, November 13. In each session, participants will be randomly paired with community members for two virtual 5-minute get-to-know-you conversations. Keep your eye out for a confirmation email after you select your time with more details, including conversation starters to get you going!
    • Widen your world. Show up to the virtual event ready to listen, learn, and share! New to Zoom? This tutorial will get you started.
    • Connect with community. After your conversation, you’ll receive an email with a link to a survey. Here you will share where you would like the Center for HumanKindness to direct a $50 donation* in your honor! You will help local nonprofits fulfill their missions and make central Ohio a kinder place for all its residents.
    • Reap the benefits. Research shows that engaging with strangers boosts your spirits and builds empathy. Your participation will start a chain reaction of kindness and compassion that strengthens the fabric of our city—thank you!
    • Questions? Email [email protected].

*Registration closes on Wednesday, November 10 at noon. This opportunity is for central Ohio residents 18 years and older. The first 200 participants qualify to direct a $50 donation to a nonprofit of their choice in The Columbus Foundation’s Giving Store.
