    Why suburbanites should care about Columbus

    Although many of us live in the suburbs, we depend on major cities for things that are important to us. We also take them for granted.

    If you live in Lancaster and learn you have cancer, odds are you’re headed to the Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital at Ohio State University or another Columbus hospital for care. If you live in Marysville and are interested in seeing works by Monet, the Columbus Museum of Art will be your destination.

    If you like professional sports, or collegiate sports that look almost professional, you’ll head to Columbus for the Crew, Blue Jackets or Ohio State athletics. Good food? Many of the best restaurants are in the city. Exotic animals? The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium. Amazing flora? Franklin Park Conservatory.

    Whether it’s health care, culture, shopping or fine dining, big cities are the providers.
