What a slow week for new trailers. It’s almost as if no one wanted to have their shiny new promotional material buried under the weight of a new Star Wars trailer. And that was a probably a wise decision. Those few who went up against it are still worth a special mention, and you can check them all out in our weekly trailer roundup, below:
Rogue One
This year’s Star Wars Story got a second trailer this past week, much to the delight of fanboys and fangirls everywhere. The content and context isn’t too far off from the first trailer, but we do get a new glimpse of Darth Vader this time around. In theaters on December 16th.
Best F(r)iends
Oh Hai, Mark! The Room’s Tommy Wiseau and Greg Sestero reunite in Best F(r)iends, and while Wiseau didn’t write or direct this one, it appears to have much of his sensibility intact thanks to his screen presence. There’s no release date yet for this one, so stay tuned for an update in the future.
Operator
Mae Whitman and Martin Starr star in a new film that appears to be a kindred spirit to Spike Jonze’s Her (Her?). A computer programmer uses his wife’s voice for a Siri-like operating system, which causes tension in their relationship. Watch for a limited release in November.
