    Westin Completes Multi-Million-Dollar Renovation

The Westin Columbus (also still sometimes referred to as The Great Southern Hotel) just completed almost $10 million in renovations to the lobby, guest rooms, ballroom, and restaurant. Much of the architectural restoration work was completed by hand and required many skilled tradesmen and artisans.

Additionally, the guest rooms now feature some new modern amenities including flat panel LCD TVs and wireless broadband internet access. A new 1000 square foot fitness center was also added in the basement of the building.

“For more than 110 years, the Westin Columbus has been one of the community’s treasured venues,” said Bryan Postema, director of sales and marketing for The Westin Columbus. “We worked hard to restore the beauty and charm of the historic Great Southern, while adding the modern amenities you’d expect from a Westin hotel.”

Earlier this year, the old Theater Cafe on the first floor of The Westin was remodeled and reopened as the new High Street Grill. The dinner menu is comprised of classic American cuisine, and a new specialty menu provides a drink and appetizer pairing that sounds perfect for happy hour.
