The Columbus region has an affordable housing gap. Local experts estimate that an additional 54,000 units are needed to close that gap today, with more units needed to serve the rapidly growing region over the next several decades.

Development reporter Brent Warren recently spoke with Leah Evans, Vice President of Real Estate Development at housing nonprofit Homeport to find out more about this important community issue. Topics discussed include the definitions of affordable housing, innovative approaches to building, partnership with for-profit development partners for middle-income / workforce housing, and much more.
