One of the oldest vinyl shops in Columbus — Used Kids Records has been a campus-area institution for over 30 years. And today the owners of the store announced that the legacy will continue in a new area when the shop moves from 1980 North High Street to 2500 Summit Street — right across from the Rumba Cafe.
“We’re really excited for the new opportunity to re-imagine Used Kids Records while maintaining the vibe and traditions of our long-time High Street store,” said Used Kids Records owner Greg Hall. “Think inviting street-level storefront with easy access. Think bigger and brighter. Think more new and used records and vintage stereo equipment. Think no more steps.”
The new space measures 2,500 square feet, providing not only more retail room for aisle of records, but also an improved performance space where the store can host both local release parties and national touring acts in-house.
Used Kids will make the move sometime this spring, with official closing, relocation and opening dates to be announced soon.
