“Family, friends, and neighbors- we’re here to share that our chapter is coming to a close,” a social media post announcing the closure read. “A trailblazer the moment it opened, The Market succeeded by offering food, drink, and service that can contend with any restaurant in any city, and we’re proud of that fact.”

The Market opened its doors in July 2014, offering a butcher, deli counter, bakery, wine shop, café, bar and European-style restaurant in the shell of a shuttered carry-out. Over its eight years, the experience morphed into a fine-dining restaurant and wine shop.

“Honoring The Market means staying true to farmers, wine producers, and making a commitment to supporting the tastemakers who push Columbus forward,” the post continued. “We couldn’t have done any of it without their dedication and support and we’ll all be cheering each other on.”

The Market is owned by A&R Creative Group, which also operates Ethyl & Tank, Midway, Fourth Street Taproom & Kitchen, Alchemy Brands, Hoof Hearted and The Crest.

The Market will be open tonight, Friday, September 16, and tomorrow, Saturday, September 17 from 5 – 10 p.m.
