University District Says Farewell to Angry Baker

University District’s vegetarian and vegan cafe, Angry Baker, has closed its doors. First opening on King Avenue in the summer of 2016, it was the second established location for the bakery that first opened in Olde Towne East in 2011. Both the OTE location and the Angry Bake Shop in the Short North, which debuted last year, will remain open.

“Regretfully, after two wonderful years, the Angry Baker University District has closed its doors. We are very grateful to everyone who has supported us,” said a Facebook post from the company. “We appreciate every customer that has walked through our doors. And we hope to see you soon.”

The Bitter Barista, a separate coffee and baked goods company operating within the Angry Baker, will continue to serve up their products on-site at least until the end of the month. According to a post on their Facebook page, they’re aiming to stay at their spot at 247 King Ave. They’re also on the lookout for another location, “but we want to make yalls coffee till the last drop,” they said.
