The latest announcement for nonstop service flights at John Glenn Columbus International Airport (CMH) comes courtesy of United Airlines, who will begin offering daily nonstop service to San Fransico International Airport (SFO) in June 2019.
“United Airlines’ announcement of CMH-SFO service is another win for the Columbus Region secured by the airport’s air service development team with support from Columbus 2020,” said Joseph R. Nardone, president & CEO of the Columbus Regional Airport Authority, in a press release. “The San Francisco service provides additional critical nonstop flights to the West Coast which will boost the region’s strong business ties.”
In addition to increased access to the west coast, the new service will open up international travel options to the Asia-Pacific region. The first flight from SFO to CMH will depart the evening of June 6, while the first flight to San Fransisco will depart the next morning on June 7, 2019.
New nonstop service to San Fransisco comes just after Alaska Airlines announced nonstop service to Seattle starting March 7. American Airlines will begin its newly expanded nonstop service to Los Angeles on Nov. 5, 2018.
