Two Caterers to Operate The Fives Event Space at The Reach on Goodale

Columbus-based catering company Two Caterers are adding a new venue to their portfolio. Named The Fives, the event space is part of the Reach on Goodale development at 555 Goodale Ave., where White Castle is building their new headquarters.

“The Reach is phenomenal, because it’s so close to Downtown, but there’s ample parking and it’s right off 670,” says Angela Petro, Two Caterers Founder and CEO. “The amenities, the outdoor spaces, there’s really nothing like that in central Ohio. They went all out to make sure the development felt like a small park and community.”

Two Caterers will have full reign over three floors and a combined 21,000 square feet at The Fives. The first floor spans 7,000 square feet, accommodating seated events for 400 guests and receptions for 750 guests. A 5,000-square-foot rooftop terrace offers views of Downtown Columbus and can host up to 300 guests.

The third floor has a full kitchen, offices and locker rooms for the Two Caterers team, and two green rooms with private access to an attached parking garage.

The venue continues outside with an amphitheater and riverside park.

Petro says the company didn’t step into this opportunity lightly. They received a number of other offers to add another venue to their collection, but the partnership with White Castle was the rightest fit.

Two Caterers Founder and CEO Angela Petro.

“There’s a lot of alignment in our company values and how we look at our team members as family, and how we look at our guests and clients in the same way,” Petro says. “I’ve never talked to developers and business folks where they use the language about this being so much about community and family, that was very different from when we looked at other spaces.”

Petro was approached by the real estate team Elford Realty two years ago, and has had a part in The Fives’ development throughout. As Elford worked with the team at Architectural Alliance to create the venue’s design, Petro was included in each decision, and they followed her suggestion to modify the size of the building to accommodate a larger back-of-house area.

Their full kitchen will allow them to execute their catering menu, which although has some long-standing staples, changes seasonally and on a client-by-client basis.

The Fives is one of several event venues popping up around Columbus, but Petro says as the city continues to grow, there’s enough room for them, especially venues that can accommodate such high capacity events. She says The Fives will also stand out as it hosts a number of community events, including a live music series that’s in the development stages, and physical fitness classes that utilize the outdoor space.

As Two Caterers adds The Fives to their portfolio, Petro says it’s the “crown jewel” of the changes coming to the company, many to be announced after the new year.

“At 22 years old, how do you stay fresh and relevant and continue to grow, and not become that stuffy brand?” Petro says. “Bringing this venue on is a big piece of that, and also supports our long term goals as a company.”

Construction has already begun on The Fives, and Two Caterers will begin taking reservations in January 2019 for events in spring of 2020 and later.
