More and more, female professionals are leaving their mark in every industry. Two Caterers Contemporary Cuisine, a certified woman-owned business that’s been a part of the Columbus scene for over a decade, is poised to make their own lasting impression when they move their operations into the historic Hoster’s Building located at 550 South High Street. They will also become a high-end event venue by adding on a space that will serve up to 300 seated guests, 500 at cocktail receptions.

Owner Angela Petro, a German Village resident, had been searching for the perfect spot to help her take her vision to the next level. Thrice voted Best Caterer by Columbus CEO Magazine, Petro and her team originally started out in the Brewery District some sixteen years ago, and are excited at the prospect of returning to their roots.

“We’ve been looking for a while for the right home,” Petro says. “I was looking more at warehouses, and every day I’d drive by the old Hoster’s Building and think, ‘this would be a cool spot’.”

The Hoster’s building was built in 1873 as a trolly barn, and Petro hopes that by repurposing the landmark, vitality will return to the area. The demand for such a downtown space has been building, and capitalizing on that means not only taking chances and risks, but keeping up with trends as well.

To that end, the Sweet Carrot Food Truck, the mobile representative for Two Caterer’s “little sister”, Sweet Carrot Casual Cuisine, will beginning serving lunches at the location on June 1st. The cafeteria-style setup will allow patrons to order from the truck and then either pop inside to eat, or find a spot on the existing patio. In the future, there are plans to expand Sweet Carrot’s mission to be more conventionally retail, but until then, Two Caterers should be officially moved in and opened mid-summer.

“The Brewery District is where it’s at right now,” Petro shares. “There’s a renaissance happening. Living down here in German Village, I want to see the Brewery District doing well.”

Two Caterers is currently headquartered out of Westerville, and operates four event sites around Central Ohio, including the Ballroom at Oakhurst in Grove City. To speak with a catering specialist, or to get info on their locations and developments, visit www.twocaterers.com.
