Turner’s Barbershop & Shaving Parlor Announces New Location

Chris Turner of Turner’s Barbershop & Shaving Parlor celebrated his fifth anniversary of taking over the shop at 1249 N. High St. just last year. Now, Turner celebrates a steadily growing clientele with the announcement of a new shop at 405 E. Mound St.

Turner has been working on securing a second location since March, and found the building on E. Mound Street with the help of his wife and Turner’s Barbershop property manager, Jamie. Turner’s new shop will act as an “overflow shop” that can hold over his widening clientele, but he also hopes to reach a new set of customers just south of Downtown.

“We stay pretty booked out, and we’re open seven days a week,” says Turner. “We just [want to] make more availability for our clients, as well as future clients and new clients.”

The new shop is completely renovated “from top to bottom,” and steers away from the original shop’s vintage and traditional feel for a more modern design. “We wanted to try something different,” he says, “but yet keep that barbershop feel.” Customers may also be introduced to Turner’s line of hair and beard products, which will be available at the Mound Street location.

With his recent product line, Turner says he wants Turner’s Barbershop & Shaving Parlor to expand into more of a brand.

The new Mound Street location will officially open on Tuesday, October 16, while a grand opening celebration is planned for October 13, with food, drinks, and merchandise for sale.
