2021 was a great year for video games, especially if you’re into sequels and updates, with a splash of indie games thrown in for god measure. With a lot of people staying home throughout the year, home-based entertainment was a big part of people’s day to day lives.
When we asked our readers to name the top video games of 2021, their number one pick was Halo: Infinite. The popular Halo series turned 20 in 2021 and celebrated with the newest installment since 2015’s Halo 5. The game launched as a free-to-play multiplayer title on November 15th, which made it very timely as our reader survey poll was brand spanking new. Players flocked to servers to try out the new game and new modes and hone their skills in online combat. The single player portion of the game launched on December 8 for Windows PCs and Xbox systems.
