2018 was a year filled with change in the local dining scene here in Columbus — with some major closure announcements and plenty of newcomers to fill the void. We asked our readers, editors and local experts to help compile the list of the top contenders for the best new restaurant in Columbus and the number one spot went to Comune.
This new spot opened in November on Parsons Avenue after a very long wait. Co-owners Brook Maikut and Joe Galati first announced that they would be rebranding their vegetable-based “Eat Rau” pop-up dining concept in the summer of 2017, but fans would need to be willing to wait for construction to be completed at the East Public development just south of Children’s Hospital.
Now that the doors have opened, diners can treat themselves to a seasonal menu that currently includes dishes like Tempura Eggplant, Cassoulet and Fresh Semolina Pappardelle.
