Top 10 Columbus Chefs of 2018
While many diners seek out the best local restaurants, others will turn their attention first and foremost to the chef behind the scenes, designing the menus and leading the teams that execute the city’s top dishes on a daily basis. Each year, our readers and editors assemble their top 10 favorite chefs in the city, and this year it’s been topped by Avishar Barua of Service Bar.
Barua launched the kitchen at Service Bar — the restaurant located within Middle West Spirits distillery — in October 2017 and has spent the last 15 months toying with diners in a playful way. Unexpectedly, the high-end space features a menu that often nods to fast food and casual snacks with an upscale twist that’s both approachable and fun. The Cheesy Brisket Crunch is the best Taco Bell item you’ll never find at Taco Bell and his new secret menu on Instagram will give you access to new discoveries in 2019 and beyond.
