2017 was a big year for beer in Columbus. Some of our local breweries were busy launching new products while others expanded their production facilities, and the overall trend in the consumer preferences for microbrews shows little signs of slowing down. Columbus was even recognized nationally has having the 9th highest “microbrewery density” in the nation, which means we still have room to grow to catch up with a few of our beer peers.
Columbus Underground did its part in helping to connect local beers with new fans at events, including our Beer + Ice Cream pairing with Wolf’s Ridge and Beer + Donut pairing with Combustion. (Keep an eye out for more of those types of events in 2018!)
When we asked our readers and editors to help pick the best local breweries of 2017, we couldn’t resist listing out a full Top 20 instead of just the Top 10, to help spread the love (and spread the competitive spirit amongst our hard working local brewers).
