The Women’s Book Honors Columbus Women

The Women’s Book, an organization that aims to promote and inspire women in Columbus, will host a party on Thursday evening at Franklin Park Conservatory honoring 40 women leaders. Community leader TaKeysha Sheppard Cheney founded The Women’s Book last year to connect women with networking and career development opportunities. A coffee table book highlighting each honoree, including Lourdes Barroso de Padilla (Executive Director, City Year Columbus); Janet Jackson (President and CEO, United Way of Central Ohio); Cynthia Lazarus (President and CEO, YWCA of Columbus); and Laurel Beatty (Judge, Franklin County Common Pleas Court), will be unveiled at the event.

The festivities begin at 5:30 and last until 8:00. Vito’s Catering will serve appetizers and signature “Women’s Book” martinis. Musical entertainment will be provided by Conspiracy. Tickets to The Women’s Book’s launch party cost $45 and include a copy of the book (valued at $25). Five dollars from each ticket sold will benefit YWCA of Columbus.
