The Torpedo Room is Ready for Launch

The Torpedo Room is ready to set sail this weekend at the South Campus Gateway, despite the arctic temperatures and rare OSU class cancellations a couple of days ago. As we first reported in November, this latest concept from the Columbus Food League features a nautical theme and fun menu to match. A soft opening is planned tonight, starting at 5pm.

“People going to the movies really want to get away from reality, so the restaurant will have a similar feel,” explained Elizabeth Lessner, Founder and Owner of the Columbus Food League. “The vibe will be part steampunk and part 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.”

Some of the items that will be found on the menu include Black Garlic & Furikake Chicken Wings, Chorizo Soft Corn Tacos, Housemade Sweet & Spicy Bread & Butter Pickles, Avocado Salad, Brussels Sprouts Flatbread and assortment of Submarine (large) and Torpedo (small) sandwiches.

In other Columbus Food League news, Betty’s Fine Food & Spirits will be relocating Downtown this summer, Dirty Frank’s is still working on final permitting to open soon, and the reimagined Chintz Room will be opening sometime this summer.

The Torpedo Room is located inside the Gateway Film Center at the South Campus Gateway.
