There are many green spaces throughout Central Ohio — from city parks to sports facilities to natural waterways to metro parks — and everyone has a favorite place to go. In 2020 we’ll even learn more about how some of these spaces will become better connected through the Rapid 5 Project.
For now though, we’ve asked our readers to help choose the top existing parks, and in 2019 the number one spot was The Scioto Mile. Constructed in 2011, this connection of Downtown parks lines the Scioto River, offering a place for leisure, exercise and gathering for festivals like Jazz & Ribs or PRIDE. The Scioto Mile has art sculptures, kayak rentals, bike trails and some of the best views of the skyline from one of the multiple bridge crossings.
