The Top 10 Columbus Artists of 2018

Art is a difficult thing to quantify and categorize, and artists are in the same boat. When we ask our readers and editors to help identify the local artists that help define the year in our Best Of survey process, it’s less about quantity or quality and more about emotional response to the artwork created. That has let our Best Artist list to change up frequently from year to year and 2018 was no different with local muralist Mandi Caskey taking the top spot for the first time.

If you’ve spent much time in Columbus over the past several years, you’ve probably stumbled upon some of Caskey’s work. From the old timey football player mural at Land Grant to the Rhodes Tower mural in the top of the tallest building in Columbus. Caskey has also expanded her artistic footprint to cities including Cincinnati and Louisville, so be on the lookout for more of her work when traveling throughout the Midwest.
