Over the course of the past decade, the arts have played an important role in Columbus. New independent arts events and galleries have sprung up around the city, and our larger cultural institutions have grown in number while existing spaces have seen major renovations.

This year, our readers and editors picked The Wexner Center as the number one arts and culture center of 2019. The Wex has become synonymous with contemporary art in Columbus, showcasing a diverse range of performing arts showcases, visual art exhibitions, and much more. And the recognition couldn’t be more fitting in 2019, as the center celebrated its 30th anniversary.

“We can be grateful for 30 years of the Wexner Center for the Arts and the exhibition that celebrates those years,” stated Jeff Regensburger in his review of HERE. “[This show] provides a unique perspective on where we we are now, and by extension, where we might go.”
