The Receiver Hosting Album Release Party at Ace of Cups

Columbus band The Receiver is releasing “All Burn” next Tuesday, their first full-length album since 2009’s Length of Arms. To celebrate the new record, the band is performing tonight at Ace of Cups along with Playing To Vapors, Fingers and DJ Sets by Adam Scoppa.

The Receiver is composed of brotherly duo Casey Cooper and Jesse Cooper who create a hypnotic sound that the band classifies as atmospheric dream-prog / alternative post-rock / chamber pop. The band got some national recognition last month via NPR’s All Songs Considered, which said that new track Transit is “like a space opera built for two” that “sounds like a Pink Floyd ballad sung with a Peter Gabriel-like coo, as synths tug and move the track forward.”

If you miss The Receiver tonight, they’ll also be playing Comfest on Sunday, June 28th.
