Christmas is rapidly approaching! Do you have your meal planned yet? Whether you need some last-minute inspiration or your Christmas Day does not include hours of cooking, we’ve rounded up local restaurants offering pre-order options this holiday.

While this annual list normally highlights spots open on Christmas day, this year we’re focused on eateries offering pre-order, take-home options for a more COVID-safe celebration.

As with all things this year, options and plans can change quickly. Be sure to check in directly with each establishment for the most up-to-date details.

101 Beer Kitchen

Appetizers! Dinner! Breakfast! 101 Beer Kitchen has a pre-order for all your Christmas-noshing needs, from shrimp cocktail to a six-person braised short rib dinner and strata and French toast casserole for the morning. Entrees and sides from the meal package are also available a la carte.

Bob Evans Restaurants

Multiple locations around Central Ohio

Order deadline: December 22
Order pickup: December 24

On Christmas Eve, Bob Evans will be open for dine-in, carryout, curbside pickup and delivery, offering their full menu. For a full at-home meal, the restaurant is offering its Farmhouse Feast featuring slow-roasted turkey or hickory-smoked ham, as well as classic sides and dessert. Feasts can be ordered in various sizes feeding four to 10. Family-sized sides and pies like pumpkin, pecan and double crust apple are also available a la carte.

Don’t forget about breakfast with all that present opening. HangOverEasy is offering two Christmas Breakfast Meal Kits – Pancakes or Cinnamon Roll French Toast – and each comes with eggs, bacon or sausage, fresh fruit and orange juice. Add some bubbly with a mimosa kit.

Hen Quarter

Order pickup: December 23 from 12 – 4 p.m.

Hen Quarter is whipping up two delectable options for your Christmas feast. First is the Honey Glazed Ham Feast Box. Serving two to four, the dinner includes honey glazed ham with orange cherry chutney and sides like maple roasted Brussels sprouts with bacon, honey glazed carrots and more. For dessert its bourbon pecan pie, strawberry trifle and a build-your-own gingerbread man kit for the kiddos. For a two-person dinner there is the Chateaubriand Feast Box, featuring chateaubriand with pinot noir reduction, also served with sides and dessert. Don’t forget the cocktails!

Nosh on something outside the traditional Christmas fare with taco and nacho meal kits from Katalina’s. Now will it be BLT tacos or pulled pork tacos or southern fried chicken tacos? Vegan options available as well.

Order pickup: December 24 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

For a solo dinner up to a feast for 10, Matt & Tony’s has two Christmas meal options. Option one includes baked honey glazed ham with pineapple chutney, mashed red skin potatoes and fresh green beans, or feast on roasted turkey with homemade gravy, mashed red skin mashed potatoes, fresh green beans and homemade sourdough dressing. Finish things off on a sweet note with pumpkin or southern pecan pie.

Ray Ray’s presents five options for Christmas carnivores – smoked pit ham, smoked turkey breast, smoked brisket, smoked ribs or smoked leg of lamb. Add mashed potatoes and gravy and green beans to make it a full feast.

Service Bar

Its a Heat & Eat Lamb Biryani Feast for Service Bar Christmas. Offering a virtual, tastebud-fueled trip to Bangladesh, the feast includes appetizers like Bengali style rolls and a spiced, puffed rice snack, the main attraction of lamb shank kacchi biryani, and rice pudding and masala chai custard to finish things on a sweet note.

Go straight for the meats with pre-orders of Smith & Wollensky’s USDA Prime Rib Roast or Tenderloin Roast. Make it a meal with an order of sides that includes rosemary & sea salt dinner rolls, classic wedge salad, crispy Yukon gold potatoes, roasted beets & butternut squash, and NY cheesecake for dessert.

How will you choose just one entree for Speck Italian Eatery’s meal kits for two?! Entree options include Osso Buco, Eggplant Lasagna, Beef Short Rib, Baked Halibut or a 32 oz Porterhouse. Each kit also includes roasted Brussels sprouts, glazed carrots, truffle risotto, focaccia, and candy cane and dark chocolate bread pudding. Round out your festive feast with holiday cocktails or (and?!) wine.

The Guild House

The Guild House is offering a three-course Christmas Eve feast. All dishes come with directions to reheat and enjoy at home. Start things off with a squash salad, choose from herb roasted chicken, a butter poached filet or a cauliflower steak for the main attraction, and finish things off on a sweet note with a sweet potato roll with linzer sable and maple mousse. Together & Company, Sweet Carrot, and Kittie’s Cakes are coming together to create a holiday feast for six. Choose from tenderloin of beef, seared salmon, holiday ham or roasted Ohio turkey breast, served with sides celebration salad, roasted Brussels sprouts & chestnuts, scalloped sweet & Yukon gold potatoes, savory herbed bread pudding, holiday relish, artisan boule loaf and a peppermint cheesecake for dessert. Entrees, sides, pies and desserts are also available a la carte.

Veritas will do the hard work and you the finishing touches with the restaurant’s Holiday Fest Meal Kits. Choose from Beef Wellington, Cedar Plank Salmon or Lobster Thermidor served with crunchy gem lettuce salad, braised mushrooms, creamed spinach and truffle risotto. Round things out with additional sides and a slew of holiday cocktails.

Vida’s Plant Based Butcher

Order pickup: December 23 & 24 from 10 a.m – 6 p.m.

Make it a vegan Christmas with solo, two person and four person packages from Vida’s. Mains include vegan turkey with mushroom gravy or maple glazed ham and cranberry sauce, served with sides of bacon and greened beans, mac & cheese and sweet potato mash. Finish things off with pumpkin or brown sugar bourbon sweet potato pie. Items are also available a la carte.

The Whitney House

Order pickup: December 23 from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m.

Make it a take and bake feast from The Whitney House. For the main attraction, there is prime rib, roasted turkey, glazed ham or chicken pot pie. Add sides like roasted Brussels sprouts, mac & cheese and more. Don’t forget the sweets, or breakfast fare with a variety of quiches and cinnamon rolls!
