    The List: 12 Heated Patios in Columbus

    Despite dropping temperatures, Ohio’s patio season is seeing an extension in 2020. (Both figuratively and literally – the City of Columbus recently extended its outdoor seating pilot program for restaurants and bars through November.)

    As the coronavirus pandemic continues, many guests may still feel uncomfortable dining indoors. Enter the heated patio.

    We’ve rounded up several local spots keeping things warm for your outdoor dining and drinking pleasure. Is your favorite Central Ohio heated patio missing from the list? Add it in the comments below!

    Bakersfield Short North

    Hours: 4 – 10 p.m. weekdays; 11 a.m. – 10 p.m. weekends

    Short North taco joint Bakersfield is keeping things toasty with lanterns on their patio. On Taco Tuesday, tacos are just $3, and happy hour runs from 4 – 6 p.m. Monday to Friday with $5 margarita boots.

    Balboa

    Cozy up with a drink by the fire at Balboa’s outside bar or snag a spot on the heated patio. Balboa is serving drinks only, featuring 100 plus types of tequila and $5 house margaritas and $4 draft beer for happy hour 4 – 6 p.m. Monday to Friday.

    Beeline

    Post Easton shopping spree, Beeline has plenty of options for a cozy cocktail experience. Part of the patio features fire pit tables and mounted heaters, as well as a large, wrap-around, climate-controlled patio with its own bar. Happy hour runs 4 – 7 p.m. Monday to Thursday and 3 – 7 p.m. on Friday with $2 off drafts, glasses of wine, and house cocktails, plus a $6 cocktail of the month.

    Bistrolino Old World Kitchen & Bar

    Lanterns and a fireplace keep things toasty for the outdoor dining experience at Birstolino. Offering a fusion of Italian-Lebanese eats, Bistrolino’s menu features pasta, pizza, flatbreads and more. Save room for dessert and wine!

    Nosh on CLEAVER’s meat-centric menu under the warmth of patio heaters. The new Grandview restaurant from the minds at The Butcher & Grocer serves beer, wine and cocktails to go with those meats. Friday and Saturday nights are reserved for ticketed experience Dinner Party.

    Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurant

    You’ll need to make a reservation to wine and dine on Cooper’s Hawk’s heated patio. There’s wine, wine and more wine, along with beer, cocktails and an extensive menu that spans appetizers, burgers, sandwiches and salads, to pasta, seafood, and chicken, pork and beef entrees.

    Fado Irish Pub

    Enjoy an extensive menu of Italian eats from Giammarco’s patio. Cozy up around the fire pit or find a seat near one of the heat towers. Don’t worry – there are overhead heaters at the bar as well.

    Grandview Café is sporting not one, but two patios for toasty outdoor dining from lunch to dinner (and brunch!). There are deals a plenty during happy hour from 2 – 6 p.m. Monday to Friday as well as a lineup of daily specials available after 2 p.m.

    Matt & Tony’s Wood Fired Kitchen

    Lanterns heat the way at Matt & Tony’s Wood Fired Kitchen. Dine on a menu of steaks, seafood, ribs and more at this Brewery District hideaway. Catch happy hour (or hours) from 3 – 7 p.m.

    Lanterns and awnings keep things toasty on Rudy’s patio. The daily happy hour from 3 – 6 p.m. doesn’t hurt, either. In addition to drink options a plenty, Rudy’s menu features burgers and sandwiches, wings, flatbreads, entrees and more.
