columbushomesblog.com wrote The Lincoln Theater is Really getting some work done
November 30th, 2007
While not a whole lot seems to be going on inside the theater, there is a whole lot going on outside. Today there must have been 6 giant city trucks all around the perimeter and up and down Long Street and the alley behind. I think the city is mostly still working on infrastructure issues. Meanwhile, one of the most visible changes are the digital “scoreboard” marquess that just went up — pictured here — on the east and west “short” sides.
Personally, I think that is the wrong move. The marquee had, in recent years, been updated and repaired and while the electronic marquee at the Palace seems to work fine, I’d love to see the historic marquee used, even if it means my tax dollars paying someone to stick up the letters every day.
