Parking at the Columbus Metropolitan Library Downtown is free again for under-an-hour visits. Just don’t expect to take advantage of that for trips that include The Library Store, where you’ll want to pick up, flip over, read and otherwise examine every single thing.
That’s not just a box of rubber bands — they’re rubber bands shaped like iconic buildings. Cards, notepads and purses with old-fashioned images and witty phrases by Anne Taintor cover most of one display, next to kids’ educational games and baskets of marbles. Columbus postcards, locally handmade jewelry and pewter LeVeque Tower replicas are displayed next to tiny ceramic teddy bears reading books.
