LC No More: Downtown Concert Venue is Changing Names in 2016

Lifestyle Communities and PromoWest Productions issued a joint release this afternoon announcing that the 10 year long naming rights contract for the popular Downtown concert venue will soon be coming to an end. The “LC Pavilion” will only continue to be known as such until the end of 2015. The decision not to renew the naming rights seems to have come from an amiable mutual decision by both parties.

“Through our partnership with PromoWest Productions, we sought to connect the sense of belonging in our neighborhoods with the energy and engagement of live music,” said Lifestyle Communities CEO Michael DeAscentis, Jr. “Coupled with Scott Stienecker’s vision of creating an intimate, experientially focused concert venue, the relationship has been extremely complimentary.”

Prior to 2005, the venue was known simply as the PromoWest Pavilion, but the old name isn’t planned to make a return. Scott Stienecker, President of PromoWest, told Columbus Underground that the new name for 2016 and beyond would be revealed within the next few weeks.

Columbus Underground readers voted The LC as their favorite music venue for both 2014 and 2013.
