Adaptation is the name of the game when it comes to making it through the coronavirus pandemic. Finding a way to make it work when events are largely off the table, The Kitchen in German Village will debut three new delivery-only dining concepts.
“As we looked toward the future of the events industry in 2020, we realized we needed to lean into innovation and find new ways to keep our team employed and bring this incredible community really good food. Jen and I sat down and talked about what food we thought would best serve Columbus during this time” said Anne Boninsegna, co-owner of The Kitchen. “We landed on a really fresh and local vegetarian and vegan concept, delicious Italian comfort food, and a 100% Keto menu. While the three brands will be stand alone, Columbus can expect the same level of delicious food and flavors they know and love from The Kitchen Team.”
Up first is the vegetarian and vegan concept, Roasted Rainbowls, which launched August 19. Fresh, local ingredients will be the basis for a build-your-own-bowl concept. Five bowl bases are available – quinoa-brown rice, massaged lacinato kale ribbons, cauliflower rice, rice noodles or zoodles – to be topped with 20 plus vegetarian options, from avocado, beets and edamame, to black beans, chickpeas and lentils. A drizzle of eight available sauces will finish things off. For the analysis-paralysis crowd, there’s a menu or pre-designed bowls. Appeitzers and desserts are available as well.
The stand-alone concepts will utilize third-party delivery services. For now, Roasted Rainbowls is available exclusively through DoorDash, as The Kitchen gauges demand.
Diners can order from Roasted Rainbowls Wednesday through Sunday from 11:30 a.m – 6:30 p.m.
Additional concepts Festa Cucina, offering Italian comfort food, and KET-OH!, featuring a 100% keto menu, will make their debuts in September.
