The Red Door Tavern has been a Grandview institution for almost 50 years, and in that time, it has garnered Cheers-like standing in the neighborhood. It’s the place to go catch up, the spot  where the bartender not only remembers your name, but your drink, the joint to get a really good burger at a really good price.
The Red Door Tavern has multiple rooms, including a bar area and a back patio. The denseness of its layout makes it the ideal spot for friends, and friend-making. It’s a mellow mix of past and present Buckeyes who all swear that the Buckeye Burger at Red Door Tavern is the best one of its namesake.
It’s also a 10 oz, hand-crafted patty smothered with mushrooms, crispy bacon, and mounds of blue cheese crumbles. Â What makes this Buckeye Burger truly unique, however, is the history you can taste in it.
It’s simple in its seasoning, which allows each individual component to shine, but not so much so that they still aren’t in perfect harmony in the mouth. It comes served with old-school steak fries and pickle slices, a nostalgic sandwich that will never go out of style.
The Red Door Tavern is located at 1736 West Fifth Avenue. They open at 11 am daily.
