The Daily Growler Opening Second Store in Powell

After much demand, The Daily Growler, which opened in December 2012 at 2812 Fishinger Road in Upper Arlington, is set to open a second location in Powell in early July.

The new store will be located at 258 West Olentangy Street. Owner John Blakely decided on the move to Powell after he asked regular customers where he should open another shop and the response was overwhelming for a location more north.

In addition, there really isn’t any other shop like The Daily Growler in the up-and-coming city, and with its close proximity to major hubs, the fit seemed natural and appropriate.

“We’ve been really happy at Upper Arlington, where we’ve been getting people coming in from as far as Delaware on a daily basis,” shares Blakely. “This new spot is close to high traffic areas like Dublin and Lewis Center, perfect for a to-go service like ours.”

The new shop will be 1,600 square feet, slightly smaller than the 2,500 square feet flagship. There will be a larger patio though, one 3 times the size that can seat 25, and because some coolers will be located outside, the store will be able to serve roughly the same number of guests.

Other things that will happily stay the same: 60 craft beers available for purchase or on-site consumption, and a 7-days-a-week happy hour from 3pm – 7pm where pints are half off, and growler fills are $1 off.

The Daily Growler Powell hopes to open in early July barring any unforeseen issues. They will feature exclusive beers from local breweries for the event, including a Blackberry Cream Ale from Wolf’s Ridge and the Roller Blade, a collaboration Double IPA with Hoof Hearted Brewing.

The Daily Growler Powell will have the same hours of operation as the first store: Monday-Thursday, 3pm – 10pm, Friday-Saturday, noon-midnight, and Sunday, noon till 8pm.
