Record-Setting $1.5 Million Bonus Pool Committed to The Big Give
The Big Give is the largest day of giving for Central Ohio nonprofits and this year’s event is already setting records. Several partners have committed over $1.5 million — the largest amount to date — in advance to the Bonus Pool of funding so that every donation made during The Big Give will grow even larger.
The bonus pool of funding has been made possible by The Harold C. Schott Foundation, Huntington and Grange Insurance.
“Our dream for this Big Give is that it will bring our community together at our greatest time of need to ensure we get critical resources to the nonprofit community,” stated Michael Schott, Trustee at The Harold C. Schott Foundation.
This year’s Big Give event is the community’s fifth iteration, having occurred previously in 2011, 2013, 2015 and 2017. The event in 2020 comes with a very particular time of need as many nonprofits have been struggling financially due to challenges with the Coronavirus Pandemic. Additionally, many local nonprofits already address many of the systemic issues currently being discussed in the wake of the George Floyd Protests.
During the 25 hours between 10am on Wednesday, June 10th and 11am on Thursday, June 11th, you can make a donation to over 1,100 local and regional nonprofit organizations and take part in this fundraising event.
“Once again, the Foundation’s committed partners have shown what makes our community great— its dedication to lifting up and supporting one another, even through the most difficult of times,” stated Columbus Foundation CEO Doug Kridler. “We are humbled and grateful to work alongside these outstanding champions of our community’s well-being to strengthen and improve the region through events like The Big Give.”
