The Best Gaming Deals for Black Friday 2017

It’s that time of the year, gamers (and capitalists) rejoice because it’s Black Friday Week. There’s always some awesome deals for gamers of all kinds, so below I’m listing out some of my favorite deals from the year so that you can get some awesome gifts for yourself this Holiday season (because you’ve done a really great job this year, and we both know you deserve it)

    Consoles

Are you looking to buy a new console this year? Here’s some of the best deals I could find for the major players!

    Nintendo

While there may not be many deals on the Nintendo Switch, one of this year’s hottest products seems to be readily available for the Holidays. Most stores I’ve been to in the last week, have had plenty of stock to prepare for the Holiday season.

    PlayStation

PlayStation has been holding a Black Friday sale for this week, with some pretty awesome deals. You can go out and pick up a 1TB PS4 Slim for $199.99 from all of the major retailers, which is a great price if you haven’t made the jump yet. However, if you’re willing to be patient and brave the retail crowds on Thursday, you can make a trip to GameStop and get a $50 Gift Card with your $199.99 Console, allowing you to get a few games or an extra controller (more below)

Another Part of this Holiday Sale is Sony’s new PSVR Virtual Reality Headset. You can pick up the base headset for $199.99, or a multitude of Bundles starting at $299.99. If you really want to go all in for the Virtual Reality headset, you can buy the Skyrim VR Bundle, which comes with the Headset, the required Camera, 2 Motion Controllers, and Skyrim VR, for $349.99 making it the best bang for your buck when priced out separately.

Finally, if you’re looking for the more upgraded PS4 Pro (which supports 4K TVs and enhanced performance) you can pick up one for $349.99 from GameStop over the weekend as well, which is one of the first times I’ve seen it go on sale.

    Xbox

With Microsoft just coming off of the launch of the Xbox One X (their 4K enabled, enhanced performance console), you won’t be able to find any deals on their newest console. However, last year’s Xbox One S is available at plenty of retailers for a great price of 189.99 for a 500gb version. However, the real bang for your buck here will be in promotional offers with the console. Value wise, the best deal is from Kohl’s of all places, where you can buy an Xbox One S for $189.99 and get $45 back in Kohl’s Cash. If Kohl’s isn’t your jam however, you can also get a $25 gift card for the deal from Target.

    Games

Ok you’ve got the new console, now you need some games to play with it. Below are some of the best deals on some of my favorite games at some of the best prices this year. I’ve tried to link the lowest prices, but keep an eye out everywhere if there’s a particular game you’re really looking for!

Breath of the Wild: Explorer’s Edition (49.99 – Walmart)

Starting off with our Alphabetical list is one of the only discounts you’re going to have on a Nintendo Developed Switch Game, and what a game it is! If you’re picking up a switch, or don’t yet have it, Breath of the Wild is an amazing experience for the system. For your patience, Nintendo has created the new “Explorer’s Edition” version which comes with a map of Hyrule and an “Explorer’s Guide” for you to use on your adventure. Couple that with a whopping $10 savings for Black Friday, and you’ve got a pretty great deal for one of this year’s best games!

    Persona 5 ($29.99 – Best Buy)

So I love the Persona Series. It was by far my most anticipated game of the year, and it DID NOT disappoint. By far my favorite game of the year (spoilers for the inevitable top ten list?), Persona 5 took me around 120 hours to beat on my first run through, and was worth every second. That makes the Black Friday price of half off even better. If you’re into JRPGS, Anime, or getting a good bang for your buck, think about picking it up!

    PS4 Exclusives ($19.99 – Gamestop)

Following the other Holiday Week deals, PlayStation also has a select choice of their exclusives on sale for $20. While I believe everywhere offers these deals, Gamestop has all of them on one page, making my job even easier! You really can’t go wrong with any of the games here, but I would highly suggest Horizon Zero Dawn, which is a great Open World Game from the makers of the Killzone Series.

South Park: The Fractured But Whole ($29.99 – Target)

Just in case you didn’t see my last review, I REALLY like the new South Park game. It was an awesome adventure for fans of the show, with a much better combat system than its predecessor The Stick of Truth. Target is offering the game for half off for Black Friday sales, and if you’re a fan of the show, it’s well worth that price!

Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus ($24.99 – Best Buy)

A sequel to the Remake of the 90’s classic, Wolfenstein II puts you back in the shoes of BJ Blaskowitz, in a Nazi Controlled America. While I haven’t played the newest game (however I am 100% getting it at this price!), I loved The New Order and have only heard amazing things about the new game. Players join the American Uprising, fight robots, and kill a bunch of Nazis, what else could you want from a video game?

    Yakuza 0 ($29.99 – Best Buy)

Yakuza has become a bit of a cult classic recently, so you would be forgiven if you have never played a game in the series (in fact, I haven’t either!). Lucky for us, Yakuza 0 is a prequel story to the core series. Players explore an open world recreation of Tokyo, which allows for you to do everything from fighting rival gangs, to fishing, to playing classic Sega arcade games. It’s a great opening to the series, and with the recently released remake of the first game, you’ll have even more Yakuza to explore after you roll the credits.

    Accessories

    Dualshock 4 Controllers (39.99 – Everywhere)

I may need to buy a 5th DualShock 4… | Image From Sony.

The final part of their Holiday Week sale, you can pick up most version of the PlayStation 4’s aptly named DualShock 4 for $39.99. If you’re feeling really nostalgic, you can also get the 90’s inspired transparent controllers for this price from Gamestop, Walmart, or Best Buy.

Xbox One Controllers (39.99 – Target)

Much like Sony, Microsoft is cutting their Controllers for the holiday sale. You can pick up basic controllers for $39.99 at most major retailers, and find a few of the more premium versions for a discount as well!

Razer Computer Peripherals (Various – GameStop)

So I’m a sucker for Razer Computer Peripherals. My Computer at my office is filled with a keyboard, mouse, laptop, eGPU and Mousepad all made by the brand, and with synced RGB lighting. This is all much more A E S T H E T I C than I ever thought I would go, and now you can too! Buy all of them and watch the ridiculous chroma light show begin.

    Ornata Chroma Keyboard – $79.99

    ManO’War Headset – $79.99

    Firefly Mousepad – $39.99

    BlackWidow Chroma V2 Mechanical Keyboard – $129.99

DeathAdder Elite Gaming Mouse – $49.99

You too, can be this extra! | Image from Razer.

So that’s about everything that caught my eye this year. What deals are you willing to get trampled over this year? Let’s talk about it in the comments below!
