New Wine Bar & Art Gallery Coming Soon to the Short North

When Camelot Cellars relocates to Olde Towne East this spring, their old space at 958 North High Street won’t sit empty for long. It also won’t see a major change in function, as an Indianapolis-based business plans to expand their wine bar concept to Columbus in that spot.

Tastings — A Wine Experience was launched in Downtown Indianapolis in 2006, merging a wine bar and an art gallery into a shared space concept. Ross Bailey, COO for Tastings, said that the company has explored locations all over Columbus, waiting for the right opportunity to enter the market.

“We have always enjoyed visiting Columbus over the years and have a great appreciation for the city’s people, culture and history,” said Bailey. “The focus was not so much what a location could do for Tastings as it was what Tastings could add to the existing environment.”

Tastings will offer customers a variety of wine experiences, from sampling to full glass pours to retail shopping. Tastings will also carry a selection of craft beers, spirits and a tapas menu for food pairings.

The art gallery side of the new business will feature the work of Vancouver artist Leanne Laine Fine.

Tastings is expected to open sometime this spring.
