Target Sets Opening Date for High Street Store

Ohio State students, professors, and campus residents will soon have access to a specially formatted Target store, providing customers a convenient way to shop for food, health and beauty products, apparel, home and dorm decor, and more.

The new store at 1892 N. High St. is set to open on Wednesday, July 18. The location will also include a CVS Pharmacy, Starbucks, and an order pick-up option, allowing customers to pick up orders in store within just an hour. The store will also accept BuckID for payment from OSU students.

“We currently operate 15 stores in the Columbus area, and know there is still a compelling opportunity to reach additional guests living near college campuses – ones who may not have easy access to our current locations,” says Jacqueline DeBuse, a public relations representative for Target. “We know there are a mix of students, professionals and residents in the surrounding community, but we expect guests from throughout the Columbus area to visit our store.”

The new campus store is approximately 28,000 square feet and is set to employ around 90 team members. The small-format store design is part of a nationwide effort to open smaller Target locations in dense urban and suburban areas, as well as college campuses.

The new Target store location will celebrate with a grand opening on Sunday, July 22 at 8 a.m., which will highlight the store’s unique features and departments. Complimentary reusable bags will be distributed to the first 1,000 guests.

Target is also celebrating in a charitable way, by giving $6,000 in grants to three nonprofits this July.
