Swensons will soon open its doors, or, parking lot, at its first central Ohio location in Dublin.

The northeast Ohio-based drive-in restaurant was established in 1934 and has opened 10 locations in the Cleveland and Akron area. On Nov. 9, it brings an identical experience to central Ohio: park with headlights on to receive service; turn them off after ordering; dine in with a car-friendly tray, or take it to go.

And, like its more northern locations, Swensons in Dublin is staffed with a group of young, spry employees who run from building to car, to building, keeping the fast food fast.

Swensons is known for their signature Galley Boy burger, a double cheeseburger with two secret sauces. They offer other burgers as well, in single, double and triple options, plus a quarter pounder and half pounder.

Along with a selection of sandwiches and sides, the restaurant features a variety of milkshakes in classic and special flavors, like mocha, coffee, peanut butter, and pineapple. For dessert, guests can opt for their brownie sundae, a hot fudge or caramel sundae, or an item called a “xango,” a deep-fried cheesecake chimichanga.

Swensons is located at 7490 Sawmill Rd. A second central Ohio is coming soon to Polaris, but an opening date has not yet been announced.
