Ann Arbor-Based Coffee Shop Opens OSU Location

A Michigan-based coffee shop is preparing to open their third Central Ohio location with a new shop right next door to The Ohio State University. Sweetwaters Coffee & Tea will take on 1,700 square feet of space at 15 E. 17th Ave. inside the new Wellington building. The announcement marks the second coffee shop for the building, which already contains a Starbucks inside the Target that opened last summer.

Franchise owner, Sudhindra Jadcherla hopes that the unique offerings of Sweetwaters will entice customers to check them out.

“Our global and Asian influence sets us apart,” he stated. “We have many offerings that aren’t found at your average coffee shop. Our Frozen Ice Dragons are extremely popular — the Strawberry Bliss version is made with real strawberries, yogurt, and cream — all ingredients you can pronounce.”

The new location is set to open this Spring. Two Sweetwaters locations opened in 2018 at Bridge Park in Dublin and next to Polaris Fashion Place.

Sweetwaters Coffee & Tea was launched in 1993 by husband-and-wife partners Wei and Lisa Bee.
