The first of four new businesses launching at the corner of Thurman Avenue and Jaeger Street in German Village officially opens today. Local plant shop STUMP is opening a 560 square foot expansion in the building located at 220 Thurman Avenue.

“From the early stages of conceptualizing our shop, the educational component to the plant buying experience was our priority,” said STUMP co-owner Emily Brown during an interview with Columbus Underground last fall. “Our other key goal was make a shop that connected plants to the community through small events & workshops. Even before we opened our Italian Village location we knew that keeping the shop small and relatively ‘cozy and inviting’ would be important so we would have to likely open multiple shops rather than one large shop like most ‘garden centers’ do.”

STUMP will eventually be joined by Fox in the Snow Cafe, Native Cold Pressed and the W Nail Bar.
