Strickland and higher education Chancellor Eric Fingerhut’s 10 year plan for the future of Ohio’s system of public higher education is to be released at the end of the month.

It’s rumored to be a radical departure from the philosophy underpinning the current system which was organized into its present form in the 1960s. It’s also rumored as being highly favorable to Ohio State (calling for a formal designation of the unspeakable and politically incorrect “flagship” role, elimination of redundant grad programs around the state, separate funding model and appropriations bill for OSU) and was one of the key reasons that Gordon Gee agreed to return.

Not much to do at this point but speculate, but I’d be interested in hearing any such speculation as to what form this restructuring will (should) take.
