As The View on Grant apartment project comes together, so does the Stauf’s Coffee Roasters that will be on the ground floor of the development. The cafe, known for coffee and light bites, might incorporate new elements after it first opens, said President Mark Swanson, depending on the needs of the neighborhood. It’ll open up in mid-March.
The space offers 1,800 square feet of seating, plus an additional 15 to 20 seats on the patio. Similar to any Stauf’s, it’ll serve coffees and baked goods, some from Pattycake Bakery, some made in-house. It’ll also offer a menu of sandwiches and salads made at the Mojoe Lounge Downtown.
Although it’s a cafe, Swanson said staying open late is a route they’re open to taking. With all of the events that take place Downtown, he’s hoping they can add beer and wine to the bill as well.
“Our logo is our logo, our offerings are our offerings, but from now on we want to make sure when we fit in, we’re not putting a widget in,” Swanson said, “we’re fitting into the building and satisfying the needs of the community.”
Stauf’s partners with other local businesses such as Glenn Avenue to provide Columbus-made organic soaps, and Aunt Flow to supply the bathrooms with organic tampons.
Stauf’s will be located at 350 Mt. Vernon Ave.
