Looking for some new makeup ideas to freshen up your routine for Spring? We asked Tim Maurer, creator of Mukha Custom Cosmetics for some ideas and tips to make sure your makeup stands out among the oversized necklaces, hot colors, big prints and bold patterns that are popping up as fashion trends this season.

Makeup trends for Spring 2009 are a direct reflection of the bright, yet subtle shades of tulips. Pale lavender and vibrant purples, co-exist with vivacious pinks and plush browns. There are no rules in makeup, but these suggestions will make it quicker and easier to achieve the illustrated face charts shown below.  Apply a deeper shade of plum or brown swept across the entire lid. Start underneath the brow using a soft shade of shimmering pink or shiny champagne. Blend downward over the top of the lid color.  Line the eyes according to your preference. Lashes are the superstar! Layer lengthening mascara followed by a thickening formula to give the look of false lashes. Lipliner is so passé; it makes me what to pass out! Instead utilize a vibrant patent-leather gloss to show off your pucker.

Mukha Custom Cosmetics & Medi-Spa is located in the Short North at 980 North High St. They can make you a custom selection of their 100% mineral products as well as help you look wonderful for a special occasion.
