On Sunday, August 7th, Spinelli’s will be closing their Downtown location after less than a year in operation. Citing poor sales performance, the Spinelli’s team is re-focusing their efforts on their Neil Avenue store in Victorian Village.

“After almost a year of being downtown, we decided to close our store because it didn’t meet our goals and expectations,” said Joe Spinelli, Co-Owner of Spinelli’s Deli. “We believe in the growth and revitalization of Downtown, and will continue to support the area with our new mobile food service at events like Columbus Commons Market and Independents’ Day. We also plan to expand our catering business to the Downtown businesses with whom we’ve developed strong relationships.”

Additionally, the Victorian Village location at 767 Neil Avenue will undergo a renovation over the next few months, which includes a new interior remodeling, a new coffee bar and new patio furniture. The Victorian Village location will also be rolling out an online ordering system and delivery system in 2012.

The employees of the Downtown Spinelli’s are being offered job transfers to the Victorian Village location. Gift Cards purchased at the Downtown location will also work at the Victorian Village store.
