Short North’s Glean Triples in Size

Glean shoppers will have triple the space to explore the shop’s handmade crafts, household items and accessories. The store, which opened at 815 N. High St. in the Short North nearly five years ago, celebrated its expansion Saturday, February 3, during the neighborhood’s monthly Gallery Hop.

The additional room, located at the end of a back hallway in a space behind the original store, will be dedicated to bath and body products created in small batches by owner Dawn McCombs.

“It’s very energizing to me to be able to give my bath and body products a platform to shine. I make a variety of products but really only had room to display my soaps, bath bombs and lotions,” McCombs said in a press release. “Not only am I excited to bring additional products to my customers, but I am also curious to see what people want to see more of. Here you can make a request and possibly see it on the shelves a week later. Shopping small and local has its perks.”

Glean contracts with 60 local artisans to fill its inventory, which includes a variety of products made from “up-cycled materials,” including jewelry, journals, terrariums, candles, embroideries and more.
