Short North’s Branch, formerly known as Biscuit & Branch, has undergone another rebrand, this time as Westies Gastropub (under the same owners). The locally-based restaurant has two other locations in the area, in Clintonville and the Brewery District, and will open in the Short North on Friday, May 4.

Westies first opened in the Brewery District in 2014. Since then, says a press release, owner Tony Selimi has been looking to expand the brand, which finally happened in March with Westies’ Clintonville opening. With an “overwhelming response from the public and the success of both locations,” Branch is gone, and Westies now has expanded further into a third location at 685 N. High St.

With a kitchen headed by Chef Rodelio Aglibot, known by foodies as the “Food Buddha,” Westies will offer a menu fusing familiar favorites and dishes unique to their Short North location. That includes sharables, soups, salads, pizzas, and sandwiches, as well as items like their Lemon Paprika Chicken Breast and Cheesy Chili Mac & Cheese.

The new Westies location will be open on May 4 at 3 p.m. It’ll operate Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 12 a.m., Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 a.m., and Sunday 10 a.m. to 12 a.m.
