Another Short North restaurant has closed its doors. Fabian’s has served its last slice at 691 N. High St.

Fabian’s had been a mainstay in the Short North, serving up deep-dish, Chicago-style pizza. Now the storefront sits empty. When asked to comment on the closure, Fabian’s said:

Fabian’s is closed indefinitely. The place has run its course in the Short North. Everything around is changing and revamping like our sister company, Macs, next door. We don’t wish to upgrade but rather allow the space to become something more fitting and new, for this location.

Mac’s got a makeover earlier this year, becoming Mac’s: A Proper Pub and presenting a more upscale feel along with several new menu items.

Fabian’s joins a growing list of recent closures including Little Eater Clintonville, Fuzzy’s Tacos, Red Velvet Cafe and Belgian Iron Wafel Co.
