The square footage at 1112 N. High St. will now become expanded space for neighbor Standard Hall, 1100 N. High St.

“We are officially hanging up the laser bra…Short North Food Hall is shutting its doors to make way for the long-awaited expansion of Standard Hall,” a post on social media announcing the closure read.

When Short North Food Hall opened in March 2018, it included a centralized bar and five kitchens serving up a variety of dining options. It cycled through a number of concepts before dropping the food all together, but then most recently serving eats from the Standard Hall kitchen.

It’s looking to be a quick turn around from Food to Standard Hall. The post said the space would undergo a transformation over the next two weeks. Standard Hall will remain open during the renovations.

Corso Ventures recently added to its Short North portfolio, opening Urban Chophouse, Whiskey Lounge and Terrace Bar in the Luxe 23 building across the street, 1079 N. High St. It will be a busy year for the hospitality brand which also has four, yet-to-be-announced concepts in the works with the AC Hotel Downtown, 517 Park St.

The food hall concept is still alive, and growing, in Central Ohio. Cameron Mitchell Restaurants opened Buddy Dairy Food Hall in Italian Village earlier this year after months of coronavirus-related delays. New Albany will also get its own food hall when Bubbly Hall opens this fall.
