Mother and daughter team Dee Alexander and Kristen Ponchot launched Rose & Remington in November 2013. The pair already owned a modern-day general store, Green Country Market in Lebanon, Ohio, but they wanted to expand into the fashion boutique world while offering an affordable shopping experience mothers and daughters could enjoy together.

The store, named after Ponchot’s twins, first opened in Lebanon, Ohio. Ponchot’s brother, Nate Alexander, joined the team and together the family expanded first to Cincinnati and then Dayton. Today, there are nine stores around Ohio and a handful in Indiana and Kentucky.

The boutique brands themselves as “contemporary and affordable fashion” offering dresses, tops and sweaters in the $20-60 price range. In addition to clothes, Rose & Remington also carries accessories such as purses, scarves and necklaces, as well as beauty and lifestyle products like lotions, face masks and candles.

Rose & Remington also has two sister brands: Curve & Cloth, a women’s fashion boutique with sizes XL-4X, and Burlap & Birch, a contemporary and affordable home goods store. They have aggressive plans to continue to grow their brand, aiming to open 40 stores in the next two years.
